Digital Signage Guides

What we would tell you in a first meeting, written down and free. None of it is gated and none of it needs your email address.

What we would tell you in a first meeting

None of these is gated and none asks for your email address. Two of them are actively inconvenient for us to publish, which is rather the point.

What digital signage costs

The three separate costs in any digital signage project - hardware, platform licensing and content management - and what actually drives each of them.

Read the guide

Choosing a supplier

Eleven questions to ask any digital signage supplier before you sign, including the ones that are uncomfortable for us to answer.

Read the guide

Why projects fail

The five reasons screen networks get switched off, in the order we actually encounter them. Only one of them is a technology problem.

Read the guide

Commercial display or TV

The five real differences between a commercial display and a consumer television, and the situations where the cheaper option is genuinely the right one.

Read the guide

Specifying a screen

Work out the right screen size, brightness and mounting position from the room itself, using the same measurements a specifier uses.

Read the guide

LED or LCD video wall

A direct comparison of direct-view LED and LCD panel video walls: cost, seams, viewing distance, serviceability and where each one is the right answer.

Signage and privacy

Audience measurement, cameras and personal information on screens - what is reasonable, what is not, and what we will not deploy at all.

Why these are not gated

A guide behind an email form is an advertisement with a reading fee. These are what we would tell you in a first meeting, and two of them are actively inconvenient for us to publish: one gives away how screen projects are priced, and one hands you eleven questions to ask us that we do not always enjoy answering.

We publish them because the customers who arrive already knowing this are better customers. They ask harder questions, they scope more realistically, and they are far less likely to be disappointed by something that was always going to be true.

Where to start, depending on where you are

You are working out a budget

Read what digital signage costs first. It sets out the three separate costs and what moves each of them, so you can build a realistic number before speaking to anyone.

What it costs

You are comparing suppliers

Read the supplier guide. Eleven questions, the answers that should worry you, and an honest description of when a company like ours is the wrong choice.

Choosing a supplier

You have screens that are not working

Read why projects fail. Five causes in the order we actually encounter them, and only one of them is about technology.

Why projects fail

You are specifying a room

Read how to specify a screen. Six measurements, in order, most of which you can take yourself with a tape measure.

Specifying a screen

You are choosing between technologies

Read the LED versus LCD comparison, and the one on commercial displays versus televisions. Both have a row where the cheaper option is correct.

LED or LCD

You are worried about privacy

Read the privacy guide. What is reasonable, what is not, and what we will not deploy on any network for any customer.

Questions people actually ask

Can we use these internally to build a business case?

Please do. Quote them, forward them, put them in a board paper. If it is useful to have something on letterhead for an approval process, ask and we will put the relevant sections into a document for you without turning it into a proposal.

Will you write about our specific situation?

If a question comes up often enough it becomes a guide, so tell us what you could not find an answer to. Several of these exist because somebody asked the same thing three times in a month.

Start a project

Tell us about the space. We will tell you what belongs in it.

A first conversation costs you nothing and usually takes twenty minutes. Bring a photo of the wall and a rough idea of what you want it to do.

  • A written specification you can price against anyone
  • The platform we would run, named before you sign
  • Hardware and content costed separately, so you can see both
  • No obligation, and no pressure to buy screens you do not need

We reply within one working day. Your details are used to answer this enquiry and nothing else — we do not sell or share them.
